A realistic looking Indian Passport Invitation for their wedding in Goa was the brief from Kamy and Rohan so I created this design for them.
I used the traditional colours of navy and gold for the front cover and incorporated the real Indian Passport emblem along with the wording "Wedding Passport" and "You're Invited".
As they were getting married in the beautiful coastal resort of Panjim, Goa I was able to find a stunning photograph of the beach to use as the background of the inside front cover. I also included a snap shot of the location of their reception at the Cidade de Goa Resort (link will open in a new window).
Kamy and Rohan decided to customise the inside of their Passport Invitation by incorporating some personal information. After their names and place of birth Kamy listed the things she liked about Rohan as "charismatic, funny, athletic and a great cook". Rohan included in Kamys list the fact that he thinks she's "amazing, beautiful, independent, smart and caring". I love the fact that along with the usual destination, date/time of ceremony wording Kamy and Rohan made their invitation personal to them by including this touch for their guests.
Don't forget that all of my stationery can be customised in this way. You can combine elements from different designs or ask for something unique and personal to you as a couple. Contact me if you have a specific idea you'd like to discuss.
Rohan and Kamy went on to personalise their invitation even more by writing a short poem for the inside of their invitation.
“Our memories of the ocean will linger on,
long after our footprints in the sand are gone.
So on this day we create a lasting memory,
by pledging our love in front of god above, friends and family.”
This was followed by the traditional wording of:
“We, Kamy and Rohan together with our parents,
request the honour of your presence as we exchange our vows.”
Kamy and Rohan were another couple who opted to create their own wedding website to give guests further information about their big day. They also used it to request RSVPs from people so only needed the 4 sided passport with no extra pages or the tear off RSVP card.
After sending the finished invitations to them in Canada Kamy left this
lovely comment on my website to help other couples thinking of using me
for their wedding invitations...
"Rohan and I are getting
married in Goa in Feb, so we thought an Indian Passport Invitation would
be a great fun idea. Kate was nice to work with. She was very patient
with us and was very accommodating when it came to making changes to our
invitation. We were able to add lots of personal touches and Kate was
willing to give us her professional opinion when needed. She helped us
co-ordinate the invite to our wedding website too.
It was fun to see our invite come together. Kate is very tech savvy which is important since she is in England and we are in Canada! We have received a lot of compliments on our invite. We highly recommend Kate, A+!"
