Wedding Gift Lists

If you are planning to register your wedding gift lists be sure to include details on either your invite or an additional information card which you send out at the same time as the invitations.

Unsure whether you want a gift list? Have you considered asking for a contribution towards your honeymoon? There are numerous websites available where guests can buy online gifts for you. Such as a romantic dinner for two at your honeymoon destination or a special day trip etc.

Choosing how to word your requests for wedding gifts can be tricky. Most guests will want to buy you a gift if they attend your wedding and would probably appreciate some guidance from you about what you would like to receive. This is especially true if you already share a house with your partner, perhaps have children already. You are not likely to want or need some of the more traditional wedding gifts, toasters for example!

Gift vouchers or even money might be more suitable, but how do you word it? I stumbled across the perfect poem which will do it for you!

The perfect poem to ask for cash!

So what do you get for the bride and groom
whose house needs things in every room?
When shopping for a present please don’t be rash
as there is always the option to just give cash.
We hope you don’t find our request to be funny
but we’d really appreciate a gift of money.

Other wording suggestions

Please don’t feel obliged to bring a gift,
your presence is present enough!

We look forward to being able to share our special day with you.
Please don’t feel you need to bring a gift
